Trial Rationale and Purpose | The purpose of theis study is to determine whether giving an intravenous solution of glucose (sugar), insulin (hormone) and potassium (salt) to people who are having a definite or possible heart attack is helpful when started as soon as possible. The solution may or may not slow the damage to the heart, but if it does, other treatments may have a better chance of working. |
