O'Brien Named Development Director at Caritas Carney Hospital
Lawrence J. Feeney, Esq., president of the Caritas Carney Hospital Foundation Board, has announced the appointment of Joseph P. O’Brien, Jr., as director of development.
Most recently, O’Brien served as the chief development officer at The May Institute in Norwood where he was responsible for all aspects of fundraising including Major Gift cultivation, solicitation, and on-going stewardship.
Prior to his position with The May Institute, O’Brien served as interim vice chancellor for institutional advancement at the University of Massachusetts Boston, serving as the chief development, alumni and external relations officer responsible for the planning and implementation of the overall Institutional Advancement Program.
O’Brien is a graduate of U. Mass Boston where he received a bachelor’s degree in management and master’s degree in public affairs, followed by advanced study at the Graduate School of Management, Suffolk University.
An accomplished institutional advancement/development professional, O’Brien will have overall responsibility for the planning and implementing of the hospital’s fundraising program.
Caritas Carney Hospital is a teaching affiliate of Tufts University School of Medicine and a member of Caritas Christi Health Care, the second largest health care system in New England.
