Truong Appointed Director of Business Development At Caritas Carney Hospital
Mary Ngoc Truong has been appointed the Director of Business Development/Ambulatory and Community Service at Caritas Carney Hospital.
Former Vice-President of Corporate Community Development for Bank of America for ten years, she is an active presence in the Dorchester community. Truong currently is President of the Dorchester Board of Trade. She has received numerous awards including the Rev. Cheng Imm Tan Award for her personal courage and work in preventing domestic violence. She was also a recipient of the Patriot’s Trail Girl Scout Council “1999 Leading Women Award.”
She is a co-founder of both the Massachusetts Vietnamese-American Women’s League and the nation’s first Vietnamese American Community Center. Governor Romney re-appointed her to the Asian American Commission in 2006. She is a former member of the Caritas Carney Board of Trustees.
Truong came to the United States in 1975 as a refugee with her father, grandmother, and eight siblings. Truong, who speaks four languages, is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston.
Caritas Carney Hospital is a teaching affiliate of Tufts University School of Medicine and a member of Caritas Christi Health Care, the second largest health care system in New England.
